How To Make Money From Gaming – Streaming

2

Streaming is as simple as creating an account on Twitch. This gives you a broadcaster video channel page as well as the freedom to view any streamers live.

There are many forms of careers or incomes from Gaming or Esports. Most people think that the only way of making it is with the current prospect of becoming a professional gaming celebrity or video game creator. In this series, I will list some paths that can take a slice of that delicious $101.62bn video game industry pie, for gamers ranging from casual to professional.

We will go into detail of what each method is, how much they make and how to get started

What and How Big is video gaming streaming?

Gaming and streaming go hand to hand like salt and pepper, which has contributed to gaming becoming the number one in viewable content on the internet. Some facts to digest: Twitch TV has over 100 million viewers in just one month, YouTube Gaming Channels bring in more than 3.5 billion views each month, and 71 million people watching competitive gaming worldwide with a peak of more than 640,000 viewers at a time. This meant more people were watching others play video games than tuning in for the biggest US sporting events. These numbers have just increased eight-fold in the past few years meaning right now… these figures and statistics may be obsolete by the time you read it.

“Streamers” are players that show live footage of themselves playing video games, whether playing alone at home against others or showcasing their matches live for the viewers to watch. Twitch.com is a home to practically all of the top streamers who stream their gaming sessions or even their day-to-day life. The general public can either pay a subscription fee or donate money through the program itself to support their favourite players.

The bee’s knees in streaming services for gamers, Twitch is so popular that it is the fourth highest trafficked site on the internet, putting it right behind NetFlix, Google and Apple. So, of course, it comes to no surprise that Amazon and Google went into a bidding war for the purchase of the site back in 2014, where we eventually saw Amazon take the top bid.

So even though we have other streaming services like Azubu being in 2nd to its rival Twitch, we will be using Twitch as the leading example of how to make a living off streaming in video games.

How do they make their money and how much?

Photo 4 (2)
Streaming on Twitch + Gaming = a dream job for some

Where there is popularity, there is advertising, and Twitch is no exception. You can place live running ads or message ads into chat during your broadcast as well as run referral programs from advertisers.

Another aspect of how streamers make money may be surprising to some – donations. Users or followers can send in donations which usually pop up across the streamers screen allowing for the donor to send a short message that will be seen by the viewers and the broadcast operator. Donations in the hundreds aren’t rare, and there are cases of some streamers getting tens of THOUSANDS donated to them by generous fans. One user receives $57,000 during one of his streams which is one of the largest single game donation. The dollar amount is entirely up to the followers and all start at the $1 US dollar mark.

The primary source of income for a twitch streamer is subscription buttons, which is given to users with high popularity. You can find more details here in the Twitch Application. Twitch partners can earn even more revenue through these subscriptions. If you are eligible to obtain this feature viewer can purchase a monthly subscription to your channel in exchange for access to exclusive perks such as

  • Custom Badges and Emoticons
  • Access to subscriber-only chat
  • Exclusion from slow mode
  • Unrestricted access to broadcast Archives
  • Unrestricted access to Video Quality Streaming

The standard streamers rake a 50/50 split between Twitch and the broadcaster subscriber rate of $4.99 a month, giving you $2.50 USD cut on your subscriptions.
A streamer can decide when they will run advertisements and how often, giving them full control of their brand and revenue possibilities. Huffington post reported that “a popular streamer with 20,000 concurrent viewers and $2.00 eCPM on a 60-hour schedule would make $40/hour or $1600/week or $6400/month.” This is just through good advertisement revenue and doesn’t include the $2.50 for each new follower on your page.

You will also make $3 for every 1,000 non-subscribers who watch a full ad and haven’t used an ad blocking plugin on their web browser.
An example of what a traditional streamer may make is around $20,000 a month for traditional titles like League of Legends, Dota or Counter-strike. Some may be few and far between but their gamers out there making those kinds of incomes.

If you’re looking for a clear break down or more detail, you can look at this article here which explains one streamer’s in-depth monthly revenues from the Twitch service.

How do I start using Twitch?

maxresdefault

It’s as simple as creating an account on Twitch. This gives you a broadcaster video channel page as well as the freedom to view any streamers you wish to watch live.

You will then need to properly set up your gaming device to record gameplay footage from your game console or PC. You will also need to make sure your internet connection and of course data allowance is up to scratch to be able to broadcast your games live, with the added complication of having the right hardware specs if you’re a PC user wanting to stream.
Minimum Technical Requirements
Minimum System Requirements for Broadcasting

  • Pentium Core 2 Duo 2Ghz or Higher
  • 4GB RAM
  • 700Kbps upload bandwidth
  • Dedicated video card, 256MB VRAM
  • Windows / Vista / XP
  • Mac OS X 10.5 or higher (v20.0.89)
  • Mac OS X 10.6 or higher (v20.2.0)
  • Internet Connection Speed For a reliable viewing experience at medium quality, we recommend a downstream connection speed of at least 700Kbps. Viewers can select a higher (up to 2Mbps for HD) or lower (198Kbps for low) video quality on the player depending on the connection speed.
You can test your connection speed HERE we recommend testing several times as bandwidth can fluctuate.

You then need to set up your PC to record the gameplay footage from your device. Follow the instructions that come with the recording device or the recording card to set them up and connect the PC to your console.

You will need to download then and install one of the many free broadcast software programs and follow the instructions below to set up your video feed. I suggest using Open Broadcaster Software as its free and easy to navigate with their guides which can be found visiting this link

If you have a PlayStation 4, you have the simple task of pressing on your share button on your PS4 controller once you have the game on the dashboard menu. You will see a “Broadcast Gameplay” from the menu and then just finish it off by signing into your Twitch account.

What makes a good streamer?

DrDisrespect is known as one of the most entertaining streamers today.
DrDisrespect is known as one of the most entertaining streamers today.

You don’t need to be some highly profiled professional gamer that travels the world in front of large audiences to grab high viewership, in fact, the majority of the streamers who are partnered with Twitch, are just casual gamers that just stream their casual day to day gameplay. Because people come to twitch to be entertained, and that is what you are offering when you are streaming publicly, so spend time with whatever number of people you start off with and build from there.

Consider yourself as a brand, think about what you are going to offer that is going to be different from other streamers, Some like DrDisrespect create an alter-ego personality and plays a character which has seen him become one of the most popular streamers of today.  Focusing on your fans and social media is also a huge key to success, each streamer will take out time to give shout outs to those that subscribe and support them during their streams with giveaways and incentives to do so.

Ten short tips for beginner streamers
1. Get a webcam (A good one not a $5 one from an electrical store)
2. Have a good Microphone before you start streaming
3. Make a HUD (You can use OBS Software for this)
4. Be yourself and have fun streaming
5. Critical to have a Strong internet connection
6. Use a Chat Bot (Nightbot or Moobot)
7. Be Consistent in what you stream
8. Stick with it – success doesn’t come overnight
9. Interact with all your viewers
10. Create Social media pages and notify your viewers when you’re streaming

Those are of course the simple tips, but for more in-depth information and one of the best websites I found to read on the do’s & Dont’s for growing your Twitch viewership came from this article

How to become a Professional Gamer and how much do they make, this article is from a 9 part series of how to make money in gaming

We start our journey into how to make money as a gamer with one of the most common paths that people know… Professional Gamer.

professional gamer bomber

What is a Professional Gamer?

Gamers make a living by being involved with the eSports world – What is eSports? (Electronic Sports) Can be defined as a form of sports where the primary aspects of the sport are facilitated by video games. The input of the players and teams, as well as the output of the eSports system, are mediated by human-computer interfaces. Most commonly, eSports take the form of organised multiplayer competitions, particularly between professional players themselves.

If you remove one of the norms of defining a Sport, that being physical interaction, Gaming does not vary at all from traditional sports definition. Even saying there is no physical aspect involved to the game is not accurate, considering the importance of heart rate and clicks per minute in Gaming. These can have the same affects over a player on a much shorter scale when it comes to it being physical, but the definition of competition is there. A Professional Gamer must spend hours a day repeating the same actions until they are mastered, so it is his second nature, and that is just for his personal improvement, much like fitness training for an athlete. A Gamer in a team environment will need to practice individually for his sharp wit and on top of that, practice for hours on end with his team, to be a well-synchronised unit.

Professional Gamers enter in tournaments held by numerous gaming organisations, and leagues hosted online and in live arenas, which can see an average professional travelling to over 30 different live events around the world in a single year. Players are backed by franchise organisations or “teams”, which are themselves backed heavily by sponsors or independent investors, enabling them to pay players under contracts to compete in these tournaments, which may have multi-million dollar prize pools.

Examples of the prize pools that can be found can be seen in this chart of the highest gaming prize pools ever given in eSports up till 2016.

1. The International 2016 $20,770,640.00 Dota 2
2. The International 2015 $18,429,613.05 Dota 2
3. The International 2014 $10,931,103.00 Dota 2
4. LoL 2016 World Championship $5,070,000.00 League of Legends
5. DAC 2015 $3,057,521.00 Dota 2
6. The Boston Major 2016 $3,000,000.00 Dota 2
7. The Frankfurt Major 2015 $3,000,000.00 Dota 2
8. The Manila Major 2016 $3,000,000.00 Dota 2
9. The Shanghai Major 2016 $3,000,000.00 Dota 2
10. The International 2013 $2,874,407.00 Dota 2

How much do Professional Gamers make?

professional gamer

An exact number is extremely hard to answer because they have many ways to earn revenue which can come from streaming, coaching, salaries, sponsorship, bonuses, advertisement, crowd funding (Stickers and banners) and the size of the organisation they are a part of reflects salary they are given. We will be providing more in-depth information about the revenues listed above in upcoming parts in this series.

For this part, we will stick to pure salary only, which, as stated before, can vary depending on sponsorship arrangements that some organisations have with their sponsors. Income figures are hard to come by, but recently, a professional League of Legends franchise by the name of “Ember” made a statement about how much their players are currently receiving.

In this statement from Ember CEO Jonathan Pan, the team disclosed that their new League Of Legends lineup would be receiving split incomes based on the player’s position within the game – At the top of the list is the mid-laner who will earn $65,000 USD with a further $27,000 in performance bonuses. Next came their top-laner who would also be making $65,000 in salary with $21,000 in added possible bonuses. The AD Carry earns $75,000 in total as well as $72,500 and $75,000 for the two remaining support roles. The Ember franchise isn’t even close to the size of other well-established teams sponsoring players, which means we can assume the players in the higher profile teams are getting paid higher salaries.

Let’s flirt with the idea that an average professional gamer gets $72k USD in a year. For professional Dota 2 player Fear, who last year won the largest prize pool of $1,730,076 in money per player in a team, that mixes with other possible revenue streams like sponsorship and advertisements, meaning this player could’ve earned over $2 million for his efforts in 2015.

Possible income for an international competition team- $50,000 to $100,000 in Salary
Revenue Possibility – $80,000 to $200,000 in Bonus’s, prize money, stickers, team merchandise and more

The top echelon teams can see salaries of over $300,000 USD per player like team Virtus.Pro from Counter-Strike: GO or even $3 million which is rumoured for League Of Legends player Faker

How do I become a professional gamer?

If you have ever been part of sport, the fundamentals are the same, with the most obvious one being practice, practice, practice. Start off by selecting a game that you find personally interesting, as you won’t make it very far in gaming if you don’t have a passion for the game you play, so you have got to love what you do.As Spending hours upon hours on it means you are going to have to enjoy it.

Here are some quick tips on starting out

Practice against AI or in-game bots
Don’t make it hard on yourself early and start directly playing with players that are already competent in the game, as it will only make it un-enjoyable for you and those that play with you. The majority of multiplayer gaming titles have training modes or “bots” for you to practice at your pace.

Learn the language
Every game has its language; this is mostly used for being able to communicate with others in the game, by using abbreviations and jargon to quickly convey your message with teammates or, in some cases, your opponent.

pwned

Watch and learn
Like a fighter that watches his opponents, studying is the key to success as you can learn, little tips, tricks, decision making, or even movement that can enhance your game play. Most video games allow you to download replays of some of the biggest professionals competing, and you can also use streaming networks such as Twitch and YouTube, with the Twitch giving the option to watch in real time.

Stock up on the latest gaming gear
Believe it or not, but just like in sports, you are going to need the best equipment to compete. High-end options for headsets, mouse, keyboard, and monitors are just the basics that every gamer will need.

Learn to play with others
After you learn how to play the game, start off by playing in a multiplayer environment even if your game is solo play. Not only will you get to play as a team but you will learn quicker by following the footsteps of those that are on the battlefield with you, than being dominated by those you are against.

Source Tips, Tricks, and Guides
There is an assortment of online websites, either free or pay to view, that will help your game play. Certain games will have Guides that show you exactly how to equip in-game items or settings to get the maximum quality of your game-play.

Make Friends and Play Nice
Networking with other gamer’s with whom you have real in-game experiences like this will better your chances in finding a team or group of players to play with, thus giving you more people to learn from… and have fun with.

It also helps to build a reputation, as one wrong comment can set you back in the gaming community and in some cases even get you shunned from your chance of showing off your skills to the right people.

This concludes the first part for “How To Make Money In Gaming”. Now that we have explored the most widely known career choice in gaming (Professional Gamer). You now have the basics to further educate you in other avenues of the ever expanding eSports industry.

Bruisers and mages have taken over the botlane, are you ready?

0

Hello everyone, I am Arturo Pavon ‘Godlaik’ with another article on League of Legends. In this article, we are going to talk about the changes that have the whole game making it unpredictable and diverse: traditional ADC champions no longer dominate Botlane. Most people are asking themselves now, how did we get to this situation? What champions can be played botlane now? Should I play traditional marksmen? ADC in 2K18?

pasted image 0

  • What changes have been made to make ADC lose power in the botlane?
  • What type of champions has appeared as a consequence?
  • Highest priority champions.
  • Conclusions.

What changes have been made to make ADC lose power in the botlane?

Everything has an origin, and this situation is not an exception. It is called patch 8.11. Marksmen champions before that patch were the only class of champions that was used in the role of bot, except for Mordekaiser in Season 5 and Ziggs last season.

They started being more and more strong with the increase of power given to their partners in the lane and also the early power spikes due to the strength of on-hit items such as Guinsoo’s Rageblade or the strength of crit items in general. Riot Games in this patch decided to change things up for them and decided to introduced the following changes:

  • Reduce the power that marksmen had in the early stages of the game, making them more of scaling champions by reducing the basic stats and moving them into a mid and late game strength.
  • Crit items suffered several changes to emphasise the initial base stats nerfs to the ADC for them to scale later into the game. This was done by increasing the cost of the items and making some modifications to them
  • Rising of solo carry potential with new bounty changes and turret’s gold.

These changes made crit ADC worse overall, but also make games faster, which influence negatively in the marksmen performance because they have no time to scale due to the changes in the itemisation.

What type champions have appeared as a consequence?

Riot has been talking about helping other classes to appear in the botlane for quite a long time, but they were not able to get this until 8.11. As we commented in our previous point, games are faster and as a consequence ADC are not able to have the same impact they had previously.

At first, high elo players from different regions started to think how to solve this problem. They needed to find champions that scale faster and had a cheaper itemisation to go along with the meta. Here is where mages and bruisers make their appearance.

Highest priority champions

Marksmen keep existing in the botlane despite the changes, and there are three that are the most relevant:

unnamed

These three champions have in common that they do not need to build crit items to be relevant, and as a consequence, scale reasonably well into the game.

On the other hand, we have the new champions that have taken over the games:

unnamed (1)
The new botlane champions in League Of Legends

As we can see, there are both bruisers and mages. Probably the go-to champion against any of the other champions is Vladimir, bruisers suffer against ranged champions and Vladimir is a ranged champion; but he also does reasonably well against ranged champions like ADC because of his ease to burst them.

This has also influenced the support picks that come with them. Champions that provide hard and reliable engage such as Nautilus or Fiddlesticks have come back into the botlane. On the other hand, champions like Soraka keep appearing in a lot of game because of their ability to sustain the champion they have by their side reducing the impact from the previous ones.

Conclusions

The game has changed, some will argue that for the best since all five roles now are diverse regarding champion classes, others will say it is for the worse. It is important to notice, that even with the changes if the game goes long enough into the late game, marksmen will continue to be the real powerhouse that they have always been. Nonetheless, only ADC in the botlane position has come to an end for now, so enjoy it as much as you can! For any questions do not hesitate to contact me on Twitter and I will gladly answer them!

We explore what major non-endemic brands to invest in the esports scene with some creating new brands and social media pages to home them

We are in the age where esports is no longer a niche community, and in fact, it’s widely accepted as a legitimate sport and business model today. So much so, the largest companies in the world are part of it, and each year we are surprised at the different types of non-endemic brands entering the world of gaming.

The esports industry has 250 million fans and growing; the scene has attracted the largest brands we know today with esports forecasted by newzoo to surpass $278 million and increase to over $765 million this year.

That fan base will create an audience that can generate over $612 million in direct and indirect revenue. This leads to an expected entrance of these brands to the scene which will help promote and create tournaments in gaming. The recent Overwatch League had a franchise buy-in of $20,000,000 which require the need of non-endemic sponsorship through investors and sponsors in 2018.

In this article, we will explore some of most surprising and most significant of those to invest in the esports scene with some creating new brands and social media pages to home them. These based on previous sponsorship deals and current sponsorships up to 2018.

In 2018 Turtle Wax doubled down on their investment to the esports space by also expanding to the European market by supporting the gaming organisation Splyce.
The marketing director Courtney Lauer explained in an interview that Turtle Wax saw a 25% growth in social media engagement since the edition of supporting the esports scene and citing it is a significant factor of revisiting the support in 2018.

Budweiser – Budlight

Just like peanut butter and jelly, Budweiser pairs with esports perfectly. The average age and sex for an avid esports fan according to statistics in North America is between 24-27 Male, the perfect demographic for an alcoholic beer beverage company.

Almost two years deep in their support for esports, they have taken a different approach to sponsoring gaming athletes, instead of backing full team lineups they supported certain individuals within them voted by public popularity. This worked with individual organisations not wanting to be associated with an alcoholic beverage company and to assure all their sponsored players were over the age of 21 in North America.

Besides the investing money into esports tournaments such as DreamHack Atlanta, DreamHack Austin with bar lounges at the events they created a content video series with their sponsored athletes in their “Budlight AllStars” campaign. Bud Light seems to be sticking with esports with content still being published out today, primarily by hosting their sponsored all-stars on their Twitch channel.

Mcdonalds

ESL-Meisterschaft-and-McDonalds-Germany

The most recognisable logo in the world being Mcdonalds only recently started to heavily market within esports in the past couple of years since 2013. They have done a bit of everything, and the list of projects Mcdonalds have invested in is too extensive to place in this article. They have supported every form of events to the local region and on to a larger scale of partnering with the most significant esports tournament organiser on Earth, ESL.

McDonalds-LaLiga-eSports-feature-image

Mcdonalds latest partnership has been with Virtual LaLiga eSports the first significant project from LaLiga esports.Officially part of the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018, the goal is to transform this ambitious tournament into the hallmark competition in Spain.

Regardless of what and where Mcdonalds decides to sponsor in esports next, it’s going to bring immediate interest from the gaming and general public. We can only hope they continually invest into the scene with their dominant brand power behind them and continue with riding the growth within the competitive space.

The soft drink maker and the enormous branding power behind it being Coca-Cola was the third most valuable brand in 2015, seeing them in the mix of esports has given esports instant gratification to gaming. Coke hasn’t had the smoothest transition into esports in their last few years as projects have come and gone such as iGN Esports Weekly, a sportscentre type production for gaming which lasted for only a few months.

They have been heavily involved in the league of legends scene after announcing a partnership with the league of legends developers Riot and with their marketing saw extensive involvements with the brand during tournaments for the game. This partnership with Riot Games has been a successful venture for Coca-Cola as one year in they became the #1 non-video game brand associated with the 85 million player base of League of legends.

Coke is branded along the single player story campaign in the latest Fifa game

Currently, Coca-Cola threw their marketing power behind the newest release of EA SPORTS™ FIFA 18, which saw the brand obtain in-game advertisement as being the virtual advertiser for the game character in the single-player campaign. Along with the virtual commercials, the brand has also hosted their league being eCOPA Coca-Cola – a global EA SPORTS FIFA 18 tournament for 2018.

Having Coca-Cola in esports is a massive point in the right direction and further cements the prospect of what is to come when a brand this large has an invested interest in the sport.

ESPN

Twitter – https://twitter.com/ESPN_Esports
ESPN is a U.S.-based global cable satellite television channel and global sporting content website, the most significant sporting network in the world. Late 2015 ESPN dabbled in viewing esports tournaments on their sports channel with mix feedback, but viewership numbers showed promise for the network. Soon to follow in 2016, they announced ESPN esports on their site platform.

The site house’s content with results, articles, interviews and tournament updates of which mainly focuses on the higher profiled titles such as LOL, Dota 2, CSGO and Hearthstone.

It became a big headline in the esports scene as finally, it had legitimacy for the general public that professional gaming is, in fact, an actual sport. Not everybody was so optimistic about esports having coverage on ESPN such as Colin Cowherd, a commentator for the network who went on to state that he will quit if forced to cover esports and quoted saying

This guy had no time for esports
This guy had no love for esports

“Somebody lock the basement door at mom’s house and don’t let ’em out,” “You know what the funny thing is? Listen to how intense they are. Those guys are totally into it.”

Well eventually he ate his words shortly after the news broke out, Cowherd and ESPN have parted since the announcement of the esports coverage while ESPN stated the comments were not related to the split but the timing seems to tell otherwise.

Summary

Of course, it’s hugely encouraging for esports to see new brands bring legitimacy to the sport. The most exciting part is that the majority of these brands increase their original investment in the scene and extending their current contracts they have made previously.

The questions that would be asked by the general public’s opinion is, Why? This question is quite simple to answer, traditional media is fading, and it’s become harder to target the demographic audience of 18-35-year-old millennials which obtain disposable incomes for these type of brands to want to attract and market too.

Figures are always being thrown out on what the statistics are on female to male ratios in video games, the common story we hear is that there are more female gamers than male. This will include mobile games such as bejewelled or Facebook games like Farmville to make those numbers but how many actual female esports professionals are competing?

The number of Professional Female Gamers.

Based on tournament entries alone, there are roughly around 360 female gamers that have dived into competitive gaming in eSports in the past decade with only 171 of them making over $1000 from prize pools. Her first significant step into professional gaming was back in 2007 during the televised Championship Gaming Series (CGS) league and was drafted into the team Carolina Core as the female player of the Dead Or Alive 4 game. In 2007 Katherine’s team Carolina Core finished second place during the CGS world championships earning her a $15,000 pay cheque on top of her season salary for the show. Returning in 2008 Katherine had already made a name for herself as a top female contender for Dead or Alive 4; Her team placed 3rd/4th the following season earning her $7,000.

2010 was where it all went great Gunn’s (sorry for the pun) for Mystik; She auditioned for the second season of the reality television show World Cyber Games Ultimate Gamer. Gamers were pitted against each other based off a weekly video game title that they must compete in real life challenges based off the game they would eventually try to eliminate other opponents in the match itself.  Katherine went on to win the whole season earning her $100,000 and the Ultimate Gamer trophy defeating other females and males along the way, Halo Reach was the final game played during the show’s finale.

Today Mystik streams almost daily on Twitch.tv with a large following to boot, She was signed by multiple organisations to be represented by Katherine during her time and currently is with the organisation Team.EnVyUs.

1.Scarlett

females in esports

Sasha “Scarlett” Hostyn 23 years old is a professional Starcraft player from Canada. Being number one comes with a lot of scrutiny and Sasha is no stranger to that exposure. Being a transgender woman has come with a lot of questions behind her eligibility to be allowed in Female restrict tournaments. With no recorded history of HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) or any procedure done has only raised arguments for her case to play in these restricted tournaments.

ESL who are one of the largest eSports professional tournament organisers stated on Scarlett eligibility to compete in their female-only tournaments stating – “As a tournament organisation we are not gonna get into the business of checking birth certificates and genitalia. If you have sufficient evidence that you are female, or at least identify as female, you are qualified to play in the Iron Lady cups.”

Regardless of Gender, Scarlett is nothing short of a true world-class professional gamer, becoming North American Champion, Canadian Champion and numerous top placements in major events. Hailed as “The Queen of Starcraft II” and “The Korean Kryptonite” came from her ability to beat some of the world’s best players.

Scarlett’s highest earning prize pool was 1st place in WCS 2012: North America winning $24,000.00 and beating 32 male competitors. Scarlett’s top 10 highest earning prize pools were in non-gender-restricted tournaments, and her prize pool earnings came by facing mostly all males.

Quake $44,250 9

*Based on the top 200 female Competitors and the game series that are played from late 2016

One of the best ways a female competitor can make money is from streaming their gameplay online using such programs or sites such as Twitch. As expected, female streamers receive a fair bit of attention, giving them a larger possible viewer base than most male streamers, thus allowing them the potential to market themselves and receive new revenues off streaming. This sometimes overshadows the talent and professionalism of some gamer girls in the pro-gaming scene.

In the event that a dispute regarding the identity of the individual who submitted an entry cannot be resolved to Sponsor’s satisfaction, the affected entry will be deemed ineligible.

  • SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING: There will be one (1) potential winner selected in this Sweepstakes, via a random drawing on or about March 7, 2025, from among all eligible entries received in accordance with these Official Rules. Repeat Technologies, Inc will announce the potential winner on social media on or around this date, as well.
  • ODDS: Odds of winning the prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.
  • WINNER NOTIFICATION/PRIZE CLAIMING: The potential winner will be notified via email (or other contact information) using the information provided on the entry form in a commercially reasonable time after the drawing. The Sweepstakes Parties are not responsible for and shall not be liable for incorrect, changed, or illegible contact information or for electronic communications that are undeliverable as a result of any form of active or passive filtering, or insufficient space in entrant’s email or other account to receive messages. Sweepstakes Parties are not responsible for late, lost, intercepted, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify the potential winner. Notification is deemed to have occurred immediately upon sending of an email. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable time period, if potential winner is ineligible, if any notification is returned undeliverable, or if a potential winner otherwise fails to fully comply with these Official Rules, potential winner will forfeit that prize and an alternate winner may be selected from among all remaining eligible entries. As part of the winner notification process, the potential winner may be required to provide their complete name and address to the Sponsor within seven (7) days of date of notification, as a condition of receiving a prize. If any potential winner fails or refuses to provide the requested information within the required time period or if the notification is returned as rejected, faulty, unclaimed or returned as undeliverable to potential winner, and/or the potential winner is otherwise noncompliant, the potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate will be selected, up to three (3) alternates, after which the prize will remain un-awarded. Potential winner becomes the “winner” only after verification of eligibility by Sponsor.

No more than the stated prize will be awarded. If, for any reason, more bona fide winners come forward seeking to claim prizes in excess of the prize set forth in these Official Rules, the winner of the advertised prize available may be selected in a random drawing from among all persons making purportedly valid claims for such prize. Inclusion in such drawing shall be each entrant’s sole and exclusive remedy under such circumstances.

All prize details not specified in these Official Rules will be determined in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Prize details and availability are subject to change and are subject applicable rules and restrictions. In the event that Sponsor is unable to provide a prize or prize component, the Sponsor may elect to provide winner with the approximate value of such item in cash or award an alternate prize of comparable or greater value. Prize is awarded “AS IS” and without warranty of any kind, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose). Winner will be solely responsible for all federal, state and/or local taxes, and for any other fees or costs associated with the prize received, regardless of whether they, in whole or in part, are used. The ARV of the prize is based on available information provided to Sponsor as of the time these Official Rules are printed and may fluctuate. Any unclaimed prize will be forfeited. Prize, if legitimately claimed, will be awarded. The Sweepstakes Parties are not responsible for and will not replace any lost, mutilated or stolen prize or any prize that is undeliverable or does not reach the winner because of an incorrect or changed address. If a winner does not accept or use the entire prize, the unaccepted or unused part of the prize will be forfeited and the Sweepstakes Parties will have no further obligation with respect to that prize or portion of the prize. In no event will more than one (1) prize be awarded. The Sweepstakes Parties are not responsible for, and winner will not receive the difference, if any, between the actual value of the prize at the time of award and the stated ARV in these Official Rules or in any Sweepstakes-related correspondence or material. Limit: one (1) prize per person across all related concurrent tournament sweepstakes. Sponsor will attempt to fulfill the properly-claimed prize within approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks after winner verification.

  • GENERAL: Subject to applicable law, winner hereby expressly grants to the Sweepstakes Parties and their respective successors, assigns, sublicensees and designees, the irrevocable right to use and publish his/her name, social handles, likeness (photographic or simulated), voice, biography and place of residence for all purposes, including, without limitation, advertising, marketing, promotional and publicity purposes in connection with this Sweepstakes (“Advertising”), in any and all media now or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity, without any form of notice, permission or any amount or kind of compensation, except for the awarding of the prize(s) to the winner(s). All copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights in such Advertising shall be owned by Sponsor and/or its licensors, and each winner hereby disclaims and waives any claim of right to such Advertising. Such Advertising shall be solely under the control of Sponsor and/or its licensors, and each winner hereby waives any claim of control over the Advertising content as well as any possible claims of misuse of winner’s name, likeness or voice under contract, tort or any other theory of law. The Sweepstakes Parties do not assume any responsibility for any disruption in the Sweepstakes, including, but not limited to, the failure or interruption of any social media platform or any internet service provider. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures and other statements contained in any Sweepstakes materials and the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern, and control. In the event Sponsor is prevented from continuing with the Sweepstakes by any event beyond its control, including, but not limited to, fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, communications or equipment failure, utility or service interruptions, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared), interference with the Sweepstakes by any party, or any federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, or other cause not reasonably within Sponsor’s control (each, a “Force Majeure” event or occurrence), Sponsor shall have the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes or prize. Sponsor additionally reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion to modify, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes should causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt or interfere with the administration, integrity, operation, security or proper play of the Sweepstakes.
  • CONDUCT: The Sweepstakes Parties are not responsible for the actions of entrants in connection with the Sweepstakes, including entrants’ attempts to circumvent the Official Rules or otherwise interfere with the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes Parties reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify (or terminate the prize of) any individual who is found to be, or suspected of, acting in any manner deemed by the Sweepstakes Parties to be in violation of the Official Rules, or to be unsportsmanlike or disruptive, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, or to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes, and void all associated entries and/or registrations. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A USER, YOU OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SWEEPSTAKES PARTIES RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
  1. WAIVERS AND DISCLAIMERS: The Sweepstakes Parties assume no responsibility or liability for: (a) lost, late, stolen, undelivered, inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, misdirected, damaged or garbled registrations, entries, URLs, or emails; (b) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty or failed electronic data transmissions; (c) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries or registrations at any point in the operation of this Sweepstakes; (d) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, cable, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Sweepstakes; (e) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or the website or any combination thereof or for computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries, social networking posts, or registrations, the announcement of the prizes, or in any other Sweepstakes-related materials; or (f) any injury or damage to entrants or to any other person’s computer which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Sweepstakes. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes (or any part thereof) is not capable of running as planned for reasons which may include, without limitation, infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, then the Sweepstakes Parties reserve the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes in whole or in part. If terminated, the Sweepstakes Parties will award the prizes in a random drawing from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received for the Sweepstakes up to the time of such action.
  1. RELEASES: All entrants, as a condition of participation in this Sweepstakes, release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sweepstakes Parties and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, successors and assigns (collectively, “Released Parties”) from and against any and all liability, claims, costs (including attorneys’ fees), losses, damages, fines, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, death, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, in connection with: (i) participation in any aspect of the Sweepstakes (including travel to/from any Sweepstakes activity), (ii) the receipt, ownership, use or misuse of the prize awarded, including any travel associated with any prize, (iii) the Released Parties’ violation of rights of publicity or privacy, claims of defamation or portrayal in a false light or based on any claim of infringement of intellectual property; (iv) entrant’s registration material on any related website, or (iv) any typographical, human or other error in the printing, offering, selection, operation or announcement of any Sweepstakes activity and/or prize.
  1. GOVERNING LAW AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of entrants, Sponsor or the Released Parties in connection with the Sweepstakes will be governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other laws.

BY ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANT AGREES THAT TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: (A) ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THE SWEEPSTAKES, OR ANY PRIZE AWARDED, WILL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION; (B) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND AWARDS WILL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL THIRD-PARTY, OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED (IF ANY) NOT TO EXCEED TEN DOLLARS ($10.00), BUT IN NO EVENT WILL ATTORNEYS’ FEES BE AWARDED OR RECOVERABLE; (C) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN ANY AWARD FOR, AND ENTRANT HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND EXPRESSLY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO SEEK, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS AND/OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES NOT TO EXCEED TEN DOLLARS ($10.00), AND/OR ANY RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED; AND (D) ENTRANTS’ REMEDIES ARE LIMITED TO A CLAIM FOR MONEY DAMAGES (IF ANY) AND ENTRANT IRREVOCABLY WAIVES ANY RIGHT TO SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR EQUITABLE RELIEF. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

  1. DISPUTE RESOLUTION: The parties each agree to finally settle all disputes only through arbitration; provided, however, the Sponsor shall be entitled to seek injunctive or equitable relief in the state and federal courts in the State of California, and any other court with jurisdiction over the parties. In arbitration, there is no judge or jury and review is limited. The arbitrator’s decision and award is final and binding, with limited exceptions, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. The parties agree that, except as set forth above, any claim, suit, action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes shall be resolved solely by binding arbitration before a sole arbitrator under the streamlined Arbitration Rules Procedures of JAMS Inc. (“JAMS”) or any successor to JAMS. In the event JAMS is unwilling or unable to set a hearing date within fourteen (14) days of the filing of a “Demand for Arbitration”, then either party can elect to have the arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) or any other mutually agreeable arbitration administration service. If an in-person hearing is required, then it will take place in the State of California. The federal or state law that applies to these Official Rules will also apply during the arbitration. Disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis and will not be consolidated with any other proceedings that involve any claims or controversy of another party, including any class actions; provided, however, if for any reason any court or arbitrator holds that this restriction is unconscionable or unenforceable, then the agreement to arbitrate doesn’t apply and the dispute must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of California. Sponsor agrees to pay the administrative and arbitrator’s fees in order to conduct the arbitration (but specifically excluding any travel or other costs of entrant to attend the arbitration hearing). Either party may, notwithstanding this provision, bring qualifying claims in small claims court.

In the event of any discrepancy between the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy and these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall control and govern.
  1. MISCELLANEOUS: The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Official Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. Entrants agree to waive any rights to claim ambiguity of these Official Rules. Headings are solely for convenience of reference and will not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of the documents or any provision hereof. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Sweepstakes-related materials, privacy policy or terms of use on any website, social media platform or application and/or the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control and the discrepancy will be resolved in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion.
